Soar ReadyI had my feathers replaced todayalong my shoulders and theback of my neckthe old ones hardly catching the currents anymore I’d forgotten to moltand hung onto everythingI’d ever hadtoday I let go- plucked the disheveledand replaced them with the grandpart angel, part great blue heronand downy-owl feathers along my spineI don the taloned feet of hawkfirm, relaxedunfettered by storms I see the moon differentlyshadows as friends
